Klarna does not publish merchant rates. Its merchant support center says fees are calculated under the terms of your contract, and its Shopify app listing says merchants pay a percentage plus a fixed fee per order. If you add Klarna through Stripe, Stripe lists it at 5.99% + 30¢ in the US, plus 1.5% for international transactions and $15 per lost dispute.
Klarna's prohibited and restricted businesses list puts dropshipping, CBD, drug paraphernalia, marketplaces and multi-level marketing in a restricted group that needs extra due diligence before approval. Ingestible CBD is prohibited in EU countries. Supplements and nutraceuticals are not named.
Klarna says merchants are paid upfront and in full. Payouts follow the schedule (daily, weekly or monthly) and payout delay stated in the merchant contract.
Built into Shopify Payments for stores in 26 European countries, where Klarna controls eligibility. Klarna's own Shopify app is only for enterprises with a managed Klarna account. Klarna also lists WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Wix and PSPs such as Stripe and Adyen as partners.
